PALETO, SAN ANDREAS, JANUARY 27 2025 – Last night, Shout News published an article covering the recent State Representative Debates (link). The article included a comment from SAPD Deputy Head Groundskeeper Morticia Benitez-Rhodes, stating that no members of the San Andreas Parks Department would be supporting candidate Chuck Spadina in the upcoming election.

The San Andreas Parks Department (SAPD) wishes to clarify that these statements do not reflect the department’s official views, policies, or stance. SAPD is committed to maintaining strict neutrality in all political matters. This commitment is an essential part of our mission to serve the public with integrity, respect, and impartiality.

“While every individual within the department is entitled to their personal beliefs and political inclinations, no one is authorised to speak on behalf of the department, or its members, regarding political endorsements or preferences,” said Charlie Morgan, Head Ranger. “I am disappointed that the comments made were done so on behalf of others and we have taken immediate steps to ensure that such incidents do not occur in the future.”

Despite inflammatory comments made by Mr. Spadina about SAPD’s practices, the department remains dedicated to collaborating with any elected State Representative. Together with legislators, SAPD aims to continue to protect and preserve the wildlife, parks, waters, and hunting grounds of San Andreas for the benefit of the public while ensuring inclusivity in all operations.

Additionally, SAPD addresses an inaccurate statement originally posted on Y suggesting that the K9s looked after by the department disapprove of Mr. Spadina. “Our K9s are highly trained working animals who serve in law enforcement, search and rescue, public safety, and outreach. They do not, and cannot, hold opinions on political matters,” said Deputy Head Ranger Vivian Chopper.

Addressing Debate Comments
SAPD would also like to take this opportunity to address concerns raised during the debates by Mr. Spadina regarding the death and destruction of flora and fauna caused by members of the department while engaged in their duties.

“Every member of the San Andreas Parks Department undergoes rigorous driver training to ensure safe and environmentally responsible navigation within our jurisdiction,” said Head Ranger Morgan. “This training is designed to minimise the environmental impact of our activities. Whether on foot or utilising one of the various vehicles at our disposal, SAPD staff remain committed to employing the most effective and sustainable methods to achieve our goals.”
